Actor issues

We had many issues with trying to arrange a day where all actors were available. We planned a day where we were all available to go to the location and film, but when we arrived, only four of the people came. The other people involved were un-reachable when trying to contact meaning we had to adapt and change some things in order for us to film. One of our group members had most of the things needed for a character and didn't turn up on the day so we had to completely get rid of this character out of the film without changing the storyline too much. So now rather than the storyline being about a haunted woman, the woman is no longer in the film and in fact is now the caretaker who is haunted. The main storyline itself is still the same with the locations and the haunted building theme with the use of the elevator. It also doesn't effect the title of the film but caused quite a few issues when trying to film. Some issues were we were left discussing for a while what to do next and had to try and think of new shots now we had gotten rid of some of the other. We would not have to change any previous posts we have made, but we would need to discuss the issues in our final evaluation to explain how things slightly changed.

Filming Issue

When we first planned to start filming we had many problems which affected our film. the first issue was being able to book the location at a time where we were all available but also out of their working hours. This meant we had a week of trying to book the location where as we could have been filming meaning we lossed out on a weeks worth of possible filming. Aswell as this on the first day of filming at this location we had to wait an hour for someone to acompany us whilst filming and because people finished work and needed to leave this meant we had to rush some of our shots so they werent at a high standard of filming. Due to this when it came to editing the film we only had a few shots which were worth editing because some of the shots were out of focus.
We arranged a new day to re-film the shots needed to be re-filmed the following week. we then had an issue with the camera because when we arrived at the location, we found out that the people who gave us the camera gave us the wrong tripod meaning we had to try and film the shots the best we could without the stability of the tripod. This caused a few problems having to keep re doing shots because of shaking the camera or slightly loosing angle.

Costume Research

Caretaker
For the caretaker, we researched different types of overalls which would suit the character in our film. We decided that a plain blue overall would suit him the best because we could add some keys to make it effective for a caretaker outfit. The simple addition of make up would make the character even better due to the fact we need to make the character look old and sinister.

Main character 2-Kev

The outfit for Kev would be most likely a shirt and plain black trousers as he is arriving at n interview but due to in most films there being the steriotypical male he would have to be dressed in a way which is seen as the 'cool' guy of the horror film.

Back up Location

If the location we chose is unavailable for filming, another place which has the same facilities as Carlton Community College is the Barnsley College Honeywell site. This is because they will be able to let us film because they are associated with Barnsley College and they have an open Sports hall where we can film.
